COVID-19 has dominated market news so far in 2020; but now with the United States presidential elections coming up on November 3rd, retail and professional traders alike are beginning to gauge what the election can bring for the markets. Specifically, investors are trying to predict which sectors stand to benefit the most, and which ones will face significant headwinds depending on whether Donald Trump or Joe Biden win and — more worryingly — what would happen if there is a dispute over the outcome of the election.
